During my trip to the Chernobyl Exclusion zone I was able to explore the unfinished reactors 5 and 6. Those are large concrete mazes with huge rooms which were very dark and not all that photogenic, we mostly were looking for a way to get to the roof to shoot an overview of the reactor 4 complex. Next to the reactors are the unfinished cooling towers. These cooling towers are what people often envision when they hear nuclear reactors, they are just large structures used to cool the water of reactors. After the Chernobyl disaster work continued on reactors 5 and 6 for quite some time, but eventually work was halted.
