The New Safe Confinement at Chernobyl was moved into position in November, but only now have I seen some videos of it. This one is pretty epic with a lot of good timelapses. The NSC is an engineering marvel, I’m really surprised we don’t hear more about this in the states. In the above picture taken May 2013 I’m taking a quick, large format pic of the vent towers, soon after the old vent tower was removed. The NSC was just starting to spring up as you can see in the photo below.
